Cara d’Ambrosio enjoyed spending her day as a guardian with a group of WWII veterans in Washington DC today touring the war memorials. The trip was arranged by Honor Flight, a non-profit organization created to America’s veterans by sponsoring the trips to the nations capitol. Styling a New Future – Today!
7:00 am, May 6, 2011 | Written by Amy Scalia
Some of my fav gals (Amy Kirchen, Lori Colwell and Cara d’Ambrosio – who I introduced last fall) are joining forces for an event tonight “Styling a New Future.”
Cara’s salon, Me Salon, and Lori with MTM Cincinnati (who provides all the models for our Cincy Chic events) are partnering for a great cause: to raise funds and awareness for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. At the event, you can enjoy an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and fashion
show featuring models from MTM Agency, hair and makeup by Me Salon, and clothing by Amy Kirchen.
The ticket price is $50, but with all that’s included – and considering the great cause – it’s a small price to pay for a big night of fun! I *highly* recommend checking it out, my fashionista friends! It’s going to be a great event!

Cancer survivor wins makeover
Written by: By Amy Howell Hirt • ahowell@enquirer.com • September 30, 2010
Stephanie Wolfram, a mother and grandmother, is a survivor on many levels.
In October 2009, Wolfram was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent radiation and chemotherapy treatments – and the hair loss that often accompanies them.
“I look a fright on the outside, but on the inside I am a survivor several times over,” Wolfram wrote in her submission for the makeover.
But when Wolfram, 60, hits the stage Friday at the fourth annual Bras with Flair on the Square event, it will be a celebration of her life outside this definition, which involves her 2-year-old grandson, Logan, whom she babysits.
“One of the reasons I entered the breast cancer contest was while caring for Logan one recent day he said, ‘I’m going to drive your car … I am taking you to the doctor,’ ” Wolfram recalls. “The little fellow was so used to going with me to doctor appointments that he didn’t know I actually went other places. Now he will see his (grandmother) on the runway … It is a memory I hope he will cherish.”
As the winner of the contest, by Cincy Chic and co-sponsored by www.Cincinnati.Com/LOL, the Goshen resident received manicure, pedicure and haircolor services.
Wolfram and the contest’s five finalists – who submitted personal stories of surviving breast cancer – will unveil their new looks, with hair and makeup from Me Salon in Symmes Township and items from Serket Jewelry, after a 7 p.m. fashion show at Fountain Square.
A video of Wolfram’s story will play during the event, which also includes a Ta-Ta-tini happy hour and voting on decorated bras – the top 10 of which will be auctioned at an after-party at Tonic on Fourth, Downtown. All proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
